Navizon who released a a few months ago announced today that it is offering a new free version of it's software. The previous version of the Navizon software offered a 15-day free trial after which the software expired. The new version will change by reversal to a 'Lite' mode after the trial expires and allow users to continue enjoying Navizon's GPS services albeit in a dumbed-down fashion. The new Navizon Lite is basically a less accurate version of the fully-functional Navizon software. Instead of providing what Navizon claims to be the 10-30 meter accuracy of the full version of Navizon. Navizon Lite provides approximately 1500 meter accuracy (roughly a mile). Essentially. Navizon Lite is Navizon without WiFi positioning. This limits Navizon's positioning abilities to cellular tower triangulation thus the reduced accuracy. While not terribly useful in urban settings the lite version of the Navizon software may do the cozen for those of you who just need basic location services when traveling. The lite version of Navizon also omits the "trail" feature that is included in the full version of Navizon which tracks your iPhone as it moves. However the buddy list/locator and "rewards" features of the full version are still included. Navizon Lite is also available for Windows Mobile. Symbian/Nokia and Blackberry devices.

OK now it’s my turn to describe what a mobile communicate is. Or at least my view of what a mobile message is. I think the definition of a mobile message depends on how the message is sent and received than any characteristic of the message itself or the device being used to displace or receive said message (s). This is real simple. If either the sender or receiver is in motion during the composition transmission or arrival of this message then we are talking about a mobile message. If I am at my desktop and I am texting your cellphone that’s a mobile communicate. It doesn’t matter that I am at a fixed location. You’re not so the message qualifies. But what if I am at my desktop and text your cellphone while you too are at home? It’s not a mobile message. Why? After all a growing legion of folks go without landlines and use their cell as their home telecommunicate as well. If I am using my laptop’s WiFi capability from a Starbucks to call up my Web-based telecommunicate and displace you an email to your home PC or your BlackBerry well that’s a mobile message. Why? Because I the sender am mobile even though you may or may not be. But if I am using my laptop’s WiFi capability from my home or office communicate and displace you an email whether or not what I am sending you a mobile communicate or not depends on whether or not you are out and about or not. What’s even trickier: what if the message-sender forwards a message from a stationary (i e non-mobile) location and the recipient only gets the communicate when they move on their cell. PDA. WiFi or EVDO-enabled laptop etc. It depends where they are when they retrieve and read the message. Out and about it is a mobile communicate. When the recipient reads her or his communicate over a mobile device used from home they are not being mobile when they read the message. So in cases such as I have just described we’re not talking about a mobile message. Let me be alter: as I see this “what is a mobile message” issue. I define it not by the devices being used to send or receive the communicate and certainly not by the message’s contents. MAYERTHORPE. Alta. (CP) _ Between 50 and 60 people have been evacuated from a mobile home lay in Mayerthorpe. Alta. due to a natural gas leak. Mayerthorpe Mayor Albert Schalm says a 7.5-centimetre gas line was punctured come Rustler‘s Ridge a mobile home park. He says no one is injured and Atco Gas employees are trying to stop the gas from leaking. He says residents were told to walk out of the area not drive due to fears that a spark might burn the gas. Residents are staying at a local Pentecostal church to wait until crews stop the leak. Mayerthorpe is about 140 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.

Harvey Duro says the BIA is trying to shut down the Desert Mobile domiciliate Park -- also known as Duroville --out of racial hatred towards Native Americans and Hispanics. Most of the 2,000 people who live at the lay are Hispanic. Duro singles out BIA superintendent James Fletcher as racist. Fletcher is a member of the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians. "Racism is the furthest thing from my mind. These populate need a safe displace to live," Fletcher told The Los Angeles Times. A BIA inspection of the lay found overcrowded homes unsafe drinking water sewage leaking and electrical problems that could pose a risk of death and injury to residents. (The County gives Mobile domiciliate Park Residents a break on the appeals)…Fifty residents in the Brown and Mecca Mobile domiciliate Parks had their homes condemned by the County Buildings inspectors. The inspections were conducted at the request of the Holtville Fire Department. The residents complained they did not have the $400 appeals fee nor did they undergo the funds to carry their homes up to code. Tuesday the Board of Supervisors heard from residents and others concerned with the situation. The Board agreed to waive the appeals fee and increase the appeal deadline by 30 days to October 17 It was suggested the residents use the informal appeal process that never be anything. Jurg Hueberger. County Planning and Buildings Director said the informal affect was quicker and less expensive. Eric Reyes a local advocate said this would give residents enough measure to alter enough repairs to carry their Homes out of condemnation. Residents cannot alter major repairs because the City of Holtville has said they will not sign-off on the necessary permits needed for major construction projects. The City says they changed the zone for the Parks from residential to commercial in 1991 and they are following through on the dress. Glen Bell an advocate with the Mobile Home Parks Association said the zoning was illegal. He said the residents were not notified of the action. Bell also said the condemnation did not go the legal procedure. He said the Parks should undergo been condemned and notification served on the owner. attach said it was then up to the owner to carry his park into compliance. Sammi Taylor an advocate with the Mobile Home Owner Association said it was obvious the owner was a slum-lord. She said the owner apparently did not want to go the proper procedures which would be the same as a lay closure and that would be to assist in the relocation of the residents. Bell said it was apparent the owner’s intent was to run the Parks into condemnation to avoid the proper and legal closure process. Supervisor Gary Wyatt said the County would pursue the owner and direct him to his legal obligations. Laura Fisher.
